around the table
By M.S. Blues
every holiday season,
i always end up fascinated.
i don’t know if it’s because of the food that decorates the two tables,
—i’ve never seen that much—
or if it’s because of the way the light causes the silverware to glare in my eye,
—the lights never looked so bright—
maybe even it’s because of the smiles i see
—they never smiled so much before—
whatever it may be,
every holiday season, i’m fascinated,
when i look around the table.
