Psychedelic Sunflower

We all have intuitive abilities that can be developed just like any other skill; it is about learning to listen to that quiet inner voice. This sunflower represents the devotion to our inner guidance.
I painted this piece in early 2022 after I kept noticing sunflowers everywhere. This was all happening around the time that Russia invaded Ukraine. The sunflower is the national flower of Ukraine and it has now become a symbol for resistance, unity and hope. I referenced a sunflower that I had grown in the garden. The colours and movement used in this piece are energising with the yellow of the sunflower promoting optimism and happiness.
Sometimes our journey in this life may be tough but we can learn to turn our faces to the sun, stand tall and strong and trust in ourselves to overcome any difficulties and bloom, just like the sunflower.
Alice Joy Webb
Alice Joy Webb is an intuitive acrylic artist. She understands the energy of colour and uses that knowledge to create vibrant, energetic art. Inspired by Mother Nature and Her infinite palette, she appreciates just how much being around different colours and their combinations can affect mood and energy. Some are soothing and peaceful, while others are joyful, energising and uplifting. She intends to harness these powerful, healing energies in her work so that they can optimally support people's energy and the vibration in the home. Ultimately, she intends to bring a little more beauty, love and joy to the world through her work.
She works out of her studio flat and when she is not painting, she can be found listening to a dog or cat. As for her process, the parameters may be planned but often she finds she works best when she gets out of the way; letting whatever energies want to flow through her, out onto the canvas. Either way, she creates from her soul and intends for her creations to speak to yours.
After studying Art at Bilborough College, Alice Joy Webb went on to study languages at University. She worked in translation and education for many years but left due to mental health difficulties. She then became the founder of a creative mental health charity in Cambridge. However, after getting sick and burning out again, it finally dawned on her, at 40, that her difficulties might be due to being neurodivergent. This discovery has been life-changing and after making changes in her life that support her nervous system, help her heal and maintain her energy system, she now gets to inspire others through creativity and colourful intuitive art.
