There are some images you can smell. Fresh orange, cinnamon and cloves all remind me of my Nagymama’s house at Christmas time. The orange with cloves poked in it like a pin cushion is a staple in her house at Christmas. It is warm and welcoming and brings soft joy, like candlelight on a winter night. I always look forward to seeing it.
For me there is always a golden glaze around the Holidays. It comes with the lights and the tinsel and the first snow that coats the ground with fluffy white flakes. It fills me to the brim until I shine and sparkle with it. This photograph is the beautiful shine that comes with the happiness of the holidays.
