Soft Dusk
By Kheraly
Lights were dimming
Days got shorter
shadows grew at dusk
windows lit up
I found comfort only at night
stars wandering
fireflies in the eternally cold space
Sunlight made everything too clear
crisp
defined
blinding
cruel
Darkness was tender
subtle
soft
welcoming
safe
A friend visiting again
following the warm orange path
of candlelight
The silk of the dusk
slowly creeping into my room
enveloping me in a soft hug
Where I could lay in bed
In semi-darkness
Where outlines got blurred
And pretend you were
still there
Your shadow
still lingering
